Constructivism is a learning theory which says that learners don't behave like tape recorders, i. e., they don't store information in their memories in the same form as they heard or read it. rather, they create understanding that makes sense to them by relating what they hear or read to what they already know, and they store in memory the understanding they created for themselves.
