Explanation:

The y-intercept is -11, so make a dot at -11 on the y axis.

2x is 2 over 1, or 2/1.  This is rise over run, rise/run.  

The top number of the fraction is 2, which means it is the rise.  So you look at the dot at -11 and rise/move up the y axis 2 squares/numbers above it.  But don't put the dot there!  

The run is 1 because that is the bottom number of our fraction, 2/1.  So, move to the right in the x axis 1 square/number.  The rise was 2 and the run was 1...and we rose 2 on the y-axis and ran one across the x-axis.  Place the second dot there.
