That is true. Some people with mental disorders envision the world differently. Some people think that people are out to get them, they are in another world, etc. They will do anything to feel safe in their mental state.

Depends on who you ask, truthfully.
Some will say no, because they have a friend or family member with a mental disorder who they know would never do that, but sadly, most of the time, it's true. Schizophrenia is one of the most common Mental Disorders that causes people to commit violent crimes. They hear voices in their heads telling them to do awful things.
I know one guy with schizophrenia who has never committed any crimes, but rather used his illness for good, to inspire others, but you never know.
