1. Remove the pendulum mass from the rod, determine its mass and record below. Reattach the pendulum mass to the rod so that it is flush with the end.
2. Measure the length of the pendulum from the center of the pulley to the center of
the pendulum mass and record in the table below.
3. Press record. Pull the pendulum back and release. Data recording will begin 5
seconds after the record button is pressed so pull back and release the pendulum
quickly. Data collection will stop automatically.
4. Record the maximum angle and maximum speed for the run in the table below.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for four different maximum angles.
5. Calculate the loss of potential energy and the gain in kinetic energy for the runs.
Calculate their percent error.

Researchers determine that the biodiversity in a woodland region is declining. they identify two major threats to the region's biodiversity, a method to address each threat, and the expected outcome of each method. this information is shown in the table. a) reforestation would not benefit many species because most forest species live on the ground. b) reforestation would take the longest time to be effective because trees take several years to grow. c) biological augmentation would benefit only a few species because is is typically not very effective. d) biological augmentation would take less time to ve effective because it targets the majority of prey species.

Aflask with vinegar in it has a mass of 160 grams. a balloon with baking soda in it has a mass of 40 grams. the balloon is attached to the flask to seal the opening and the vinegar and baking soda mixes. the balloon inflates to a large volume. what will the total mass of the balloon and flask be after the balloon inflates? explain. a) less than 200 grams because the solid baking soda disappears. b) 200 grams, because all the atoms remain in the balloon or flask. c) more than 200 grams because the size of the balloon is so much larger. d) less than 200 grams because gases such as the one in the balloon are lighter than solids and liquids.
