1. Freezing-is the temperature at which a liquid becomes a solid at normal atmospheric pressure.

Example- of freezing is when water turns into ice.

2. Vaporization-is the process of transition of a liquid into vapors when heat is provided to it.

Example- salt is recovered from sea-water by the process of vaporization

3. Condensation-is the process where water vapor becomes liquid.

Example- dew forming on grass in the early morning, eye glasses fogging up when you enter a warm building on a cold winter day, or water drops forming on a glass holding a cold drink on a hot summer day

4. Sublimation- conversion of a substance from the solid to the gaseous state without its becoming liquid.

Example- dry ice which is a frozen form of carbon dioxide..

5. Reverse sublimation- when a gas phase changes directly to a solid without becoming a liquid first.
