Determine the magnitude of the electric field along the segment between the electrodes by using Equation 2-5 and the boundary conditions that the potential is either 0.0 V or 15.0 V at the negative or the positive electrode respectively. Find the average of the electric field values – this will be the average value of E that exists between the electrodes. Calculate the (sample) standard deviation, σ.
