Ionic Bonding Practice
For this assignment you need to practice writing the compounds different ions will make when they react. I will give you 2 ions that will react. You need to write the correct formula for the compound that those two ions will create.
For example:
When potassium reacts with sulfur
first write the ions for each element
K1+ and S2-
Then write your basic compound formula. Put the positive ion first, then the negative ion
KS
Then use the charge number to determine how many of each atom is required to make a neutral compound like we did in the nearpod video (remember you don't need to write 1s in your formulas)
K2S This formula is complete!
Write the formulas for the following reactions:
When calcium reacts with oxygen
when lithium reacts with sulfur
when caesium reacts with phosphorus
when strontium reacts with iodine

Two loudspeakers, 5.5 m apart and facing each other, play identical sounds of the same frequency. you stand halfway between them, where there is a maximum of sound intensity. moving from this point toward one of the speakers, you encounter a minimum of sound intensity when you have moved 0.33 m . assume the speed of sound is 340 m/s. part a) what is the frequency of the sound? part b) if the frequency is then increased while you remain 0.21 m from the center, what is the first frequency for which that location will be a maximum of sound intensity? express your answer to two significant figures and include the appropriate units.

Aball is thrown from the top of a building with an initial velocity of 21.9 m/s straight upward, at an initial height of 51.6 m above the ground. the ball just misses the edge of the roof on its way down, as shown in the figure. (a) determine the time needed for the ball to reach its maximum height. (b) determine the maximum height. (c) determine the time needed for the ball to return to the height from which it was thrown, and the velocity of the ball at that instant. (d) determine the time needed for the ball to reach the ground. (e) determine the velocity and position of the ball at t = 5.35 s.
