Why do some people feel threatened by diversity?

There are many reasons why someone might feel threatened by diversity. For example, people that belong to the dominant group in society might feel that diversity weakens their privilege or control.

Other people might feel that, as diversity increases, their traditions and way of life will become less common or less practiced. These people fear the loss of culture that comes from people adopting new traditions and forgetting the previous ones.

Finally, some people might simply feel threatened by diversity due to their fear of the unknown. These people might be ignorant about other cultures, and they might fear being uncomfortable or awkward when interacting with people from other cultures.
