A sample garden syringe used to produce a jet of water consists of
a piston of area 4cm’ which moves in a horizontal cylinder which
has a small hole of area 4mm’ at its end. If the force on the piston
is 50N calculate a value for the speed at which the water is forced
out of the small hole, assuming the speed of the piston is
negligible. The density of water is 1000kgm.
