Electromagnetic waves from the sun reach the earth even though the space between us and the sun. Sound waves emitted by the sun cannot reach the earth. Explain why this difference?

Explanation:

Electromagnetic waves don’t travel therefore they don’t “reach” the Earth. “Only” electromagnetic energy/radiation propagates through the omnipresent fundamental electromagnetic field.

If photons or EM waves travelled through 180,000 miles of vacuum at near absolute zero temperature I don’t think I’d be sitting here in a T-shirt and shorts.

There is a fundamental EM field permeating space between the sun and Earth. EM energy propagates in this field as the up and down oscillation of EM field values in a wave-like pattern.

No waves or photons travel at all. Only EM energy/radiation propagates here.

we know that vertex of this quadratic function occurs at (5,2).

further, we know that range of this function is $[2,\infty)$ .

upon interchanging x and y, we get:

$x=(y-5)^{2}+2$

let us now solve this function for y.

$(y-5)^{2}=x-2\\ y-5=\pm \sqrt{x-2}\\ y=5\pm \sqrt{x-2}\\$

hence, the inverse function would be $f^{-1}(x)=5+\sqrt{x-2}$ if we restrict the domain of original function to $[5,\infty)$ and the inverse function would be $f^{-1}(x)=5-\sqrt{x-2}$ if we restrict the domain to $(-\infty,5]$ .
