Question: Why doesn’t the skater stop moving? Justify your answer. The skater does not stop moving because when it starts from a height that gives the energy to move to the other side of the high and that hight then gives the energy to go to the other side of the track where it came from, it all repeats leading it to not stop. ( the hill of the track gives it energy to go to the other side of the hill and so on).

Question: If the skater was in the same positions on the right side, would you expect the diagrams and the speed to look the same? Why?
If the skater was in the same position on the right side, I would expect the diagrams and the speed to look the same because it is not the side that matters what matters is the hight. Any where it is all that matters is the same height which would give the same diagrams and the speed to look the same.

Next, using the L shaped ramp.
Question: Describe the transfer of energy and explain WHY the skater has each type of energy.

Next, on the W shaped ramp:
Question: Consider the two low points in the ramp. At which point will the skater have the maximum kinetic energy? Why do you think that is?

Electric field of the earth. the earth has a net electric charge that causes a field at points near its surface equal to 150 n> c and directed in toward the center of the earth. (a) what magnitude and sign of charge would a 60-kg human have to acquire to overcome his or her weight by the force exerted by the earth’s electric field? (b) what would be the force of repulsion between two people each with the charge calculated in part (a) and separated by a distance of 100 m? is use of the earth’s electric field a feasible means of flight? why or why not?
