A rectangular loop of wire has dimensions (d⋅l) as shown in (Figure 4). The loop is moving to the right at a constant speed v into a uniform magnetic field of magnitude B, directed into the page.

The magnitude of the emf induced in the loop is Bvd.

Horizontal side = l

Vertical side = d

The induced emf at frame 700 is -26mV. The instantaneous speed at frame 700 is 6.0×10^−2 m/s.

Based on the emf value measured at frame 700, what is the average magnitude of the magnetic field inside the magnet assembly? Note that the loop has 10 turns; in other words, the total emf is the sum of the emf’s generated in each turn. In your calculations, use 26 mV for the magnitude of the total induced emf and 0.060 m/s for the speed of the loop.

Large electric fields in cell membranes cause ions to move through the cell wall. the field strength in a typical membrane is 1.0 x 10 7 n/c. what is the magnitude of the force on a calcium ion with charge +e? what is its acceleration? is it possible for a particle with the same charge as as calcium to have a different acceleration if placed at this location? what would change the acceleration: mass of the particle? diameter of the particle?
