A high school physics instructor catches one of his students chewing gum in class. He decides to discipline the student by asking that he stick the gum to a fan and calculate how fast the fan is moving when the gum gets thrown off. The label says that the diameter of the fan is d = 29 cm, and at full speed it turns at a rate of f = 35 rev/s, and that the fan is guaranteed to accelerate uniformly. The fan takes t = 11 s to go from rest to full speed.

(a) Find the angular speed alpha
(b) Find the tangential components of the acceleration as the fan is speeding up
(c) What is the magnitude of centripetal acceleration as the fan is turning at top speed.
(d) Find the tangential components of the acceleration of the gu. When the fan is at full speed.

The particle p starts from rest at point a at time t = 0 and changes its speed thereafter at a constant rate of 2.8g as it follows the horizontal path shown. determine the magnitude and direction of its total acceleration (a) just before point b, (b) just after point b, and (c) as it passes point c. state your directions relative to the x-axis shown (ccw positive) and choose the angle with the smallest magnitude.
