The energy sources input that can cause the turbine wooden wheel to spin and generate electrical energy are: the Wind, the falling water and the expanding Steam.

First let us talk about the wind. Wind generates electricity with the help of wind mill. When the wind blows, the turbine that is connected to the generator in the wind mill rotates the blades and this in turn rotates the shaft, thus producing electrical energy.Next is the falling water. Here, the falling water is used in hydro power plants where the water that falls on the turbine, rotates the blades. So here, the kinetic energy of water is converted to mechanical energy and this mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy by the generator. Last we talk about the steam. In this, Steam turbines are used where at first, the fuel energy is used to increase the steam and thus the thermal energy is converted to kinetic energy of the turbine. This rotates the blades and hence this mechanical energy of the turbine is converted to electrical energy by the generator.
