A basketball player is shooting a free throw. She applies a resultant force of 60N to a 0.5kg basketball at a 45 degree angle from the horizontal as it leaves her hands. We will assume the vertical and rightward is regarded as positive. What is the net force acting on the basketball as it leaves her hands?
