Diastolic Blood Pressure: When the blood is being pumped through the heart, a certain amount of pressure is applied on the blood vessels when the muscles are relaxing. The pressure is measured to prevent lack of oxygen that may cause severe damage to brain, heart and normal functionality of the individual.
