Let's say you are on the third story of an apartment building that has a swimming pool. for some insane reason you think it is a good idea to jump off your balcony into the swimming pool. if you are a height h above the ground and a distance r from the pool how far must you be running in terms of h and r to make into the pool and not end up as cement pizza? are there any applications of this?

An object with initial temperature 130 ∘ f is submerged in large tank of water whose temperature is 50 ∘ f . find a formula for f ( t ) , the temperature of the object after t minutes, if the cooling constant is k = − 0.2 . remember newton's law of cooling (the rate of change of temperature with respect to time is equal to k times the difference between the temperature of the object and the surrounding temperature) ! : )

Acentrifuge in a medical laboratory rotates at an angular speed of 3,700 rev/min. when switched off, it rotates through 54.0 revolutions before coming to rest. find the constant angular acceleration (in rad/s2) of the centrifuge. your response is within 10% of the correct value. this may be due to roundoff error, or you could have a mistake in your calculation. carry out all intermediate results to at least four-digit accuracy to minimize roundoff error. rad/s2
