While measuring physical quantities in an experiment we take multiple measurements and if the values that we have measured are close to each other, then they are said to be precise. The terms accuracy and precision can be best explained using an example.

Consider a physical quantity whose true value 3.30 . suppose we make a measurements 3.27,3.34,1,4.21,4.24 etc. Here the set of values 3.27 and 3,34 can be called accurate since they are close to the true value while the measurements 4.21,4.24 can be called precise values since they are close to each other.
