You are instructed to choose a class of polymer for use in a vascular graft, with the most significant concern being that the material has the ability to expand and contract in circumference during the pulsatile flow of the blood. you are given another material that could be used for this application, dacron®, and are instructed to determine the tensile strength of this material. using a normal dog-bone geometry, you test the polymer at a rate of 1 mm/min and find it has an elastic modulus of 3 gpa. you repeat the test at 5 mm/min. would you expect the tensile modulus to be on the order of 0.3 gpa or 30 gpa? why? ( explain from a molecular perspective)

Select light for the type of wave, adjust the wavelength so that the light is red, and increase the amplitude of the light to the max. then, select the start button at the source location to begin producing the waves. light is a form of electromagnetic wave, containing oscillating electric and magnetic fields. the wave amplitude detector mentioned above shows how the electric field oscillates in time at the location of the probe. the amplitude of the wave at the location of the probe is equal to the maximum electric field measured. how does the amplitude of the wave depend on the distance from the source?

Why does the equilibrium position of the spring change when a mass is added to the spring? will the mass oscillate around the new equilibrium position of the spring or the previous position without a mass attached to the spring? if the equilibrium position of the spring changes by 20 cm (assuming no initial mass) when a mass is added to the spring with constant 4.9 kg/s^2, what is the mass of the object attached to the spring?

When you see distant streetlights through smog, they look dimmer and redder than they do normally. but when you see the same streetlights through fog or falling snow, they look dimmer but not redder. use your knowledge of the interstellar medium to discuss the relative sizes of the particles in smog, fog, and snowstorms compared to the wavelength of light.
