In the sapling prelab for this experiment you used spartan to calculate the enthalpy of formation (δhf) of the hydrogen bond between two ethanol molecules. compare that value with the enthalpy of vaporization (δhvap) you found experimentally for ethanol. the magnitudes of the two values should be close, but the sign is opposite. why? what are the values and how are they related?
