The equation for the number of modes (also called channels) in a square cross section quantum wire is reproduced below. the approximation reflects that the number of channels must be an integer; it is the truncated number obtained by the formula: 2 2 tw kp 4 7 n=-ar 42/2 using this formula, create a plot of w on the x axis and the resistance of the quantum wire on the y axis assuming a fermi wavelength, a= 50nm. plot the vertical axis as a logarithmic axis. do this for the first 20 channels (note that some channels overlap so there may be jumps of more than 1 that's the point of the exercise). given the fermi wavelength as above calculate the carrier (electron) concentration in a. b. the material. is the material a metal or a semiconductor?
