A field is a region of space where force is felt or exerted.

A magnetic field as such is an area where the impact of magnetic force can be felt.

The earth behaves like a giant bar magnet due to movement of liquid metals in the outer core. This giant magnet exerts a magnetic field on the entire earth. The core of the earth falls at the centre of the globe and it dissipiates magnetic force outwards.

In terms of the magnetic field of the earth, it covers the entire planet due to the location of its source.

The poles are deflected just a little bit from the geographic north and south by a little angle. This angle is known as magnetic declination. It varies from time to time due to the strength of the magnetic field.

as sunlight enters the earth's atmosphere, blue light is scattered away and at the end of its journey in the sky, only red and orange wavelengths remain in the beam.

hence at sunrise and sunset, the sky appears reddish orange.
