In order to understand this in detail, let's define each type of mirror:

A concave mirror has a reflective surface that is curved inwards.  This type of mirrors reflect the light making it converge in a focal point therefore they are used to focus the light. This occurs because the light is reflected with different angles, since the normal to the surface varies from one point to another of the mirror.

Now, the formation of the image will depend on the following conditions:

-If the object is at a distance greater than the focal distance, a real and inverted image is formed that may be greater or less than the object.

-If the object is at a distance smaller than the focal distance, a virtual image is formed, right and larger than the object.

Therefore, concave mirrors are able to produce real and virtual images.

A plane mirror is a highly polished flat surface with a very high capacity to reflect incident light.  

The way it works is:

The incident rays coming from the real object reach the mirror and  are reflected following the law of Reflection.  

The prolongation of those reflected rays converge at a point that does not coincide with the actual position of the object. At that point the virtual image of the object is formed, which also is symmetrical and upright.  

Therefore, plane mirrors are able to produce only virtual images.

Note: An image is said to be virtual because it is a copy of the object that looks as if the object is behind the mirror and not in front of it or on the surface, but it is not really there. However, it can be seen when we focus it with our eyes.

As we know that radius of curvature of plane mirror is infinite so here in plane mirror when object is placed in front of mirror then light will form a virtual image of the object behind the mirror at same distance as that of object.

This image is always virtual image and of same size as that of object.

But in case of concave mirror we know that the image may be real or virtual depends on the position of object.

Like if object is placed behind the focal length then it will form real image and it may be bigger or smaller in size.

While if object is placed at distance less than the focal length then the image is of larger in size and virtual image.
