First law of thermodynamics  is an application of law of conservation of energy(according to energy conservation law energy can neither be created nor it can be destroyed only it can transform from one form of energy to another form of energy) which is adapted for thermodynamic systems.

According to first law of thermodynamics heat added to a system is neither created nor destroyed but it can transforms into other forms of energy.
