You are dispatched for a 65 year old female patient with possible injuries related to a fall, injuries specifics are not known at the time of dispatch. Upon arrival you are met at the door by a relative
that stated they entered to home to find the female patient at the bottom of the basement stairs.
Initial patient contact reveals that she is alert but disoriented. Her airway is open and her
respirations are 24 per minute with adequate chest rise and fall. The patient's skin is pale, cool,
and clammy. Her heart rate is 120 per minute. During the rapid trauma assessment, you not that
her she complains of pain when you palpate her pelvis and you also note a deformed right lower
leg. Her blood pressure 96/72 mmhg.
