2. Mr. Brown, a 70 year old man, has been healthy most of his life, but lately has been feeling extremely sick. He complains of malaise, fever, abdominal pain, nausea and tachycardia. She reported at the emergency department of Greater Accra Regional hospital and the following full blood count laboratory results were produced by the haematology automated analyser. A routine urine examination reveals the presence of numerous red blood cells, pus cells and schistosoma haematobium ova.

Neutrophils 81 % 40 – 70 %
Lymphocytes 16% 20 -50 %
Monocytes 2% 2 – 8%

a) Comment on the above results using all the parameters provided.

b)(MCHC)and(MCH)usingthe above parameters.

c) A manual white blood cell (WBC) count was performed. A total of 280 cells were counted in all 4-mm2 squares of a Neubauer-ruled chamber. A 1:20 dilution was used. Calculate the manual WBC count.
