Can someone me understand this? 2 + 3(x+1) = 6x

2 + 3(x + 1) = 6x
2 + 3x + 3 = 6x 
*You are multiplying from inside the parentheses*
2 + 3 +3x = 6x
*Now add the numbers without the variables (x)*
5 + 3x = 6x
*Now write 5 first and add the variables together*
5 = 9x
*Switch it*
9x = 5
x = 5 divided by 9 or 5 x 1/9
x = 5/9
