First we find the area of the rectangle. Area of a rectangle = length * width.

Now divide it by 2 and simplify

36 / 2 = 18. Leave this way until we are at the end.

Now put the two together.

228 + 18. Put this into your calculator to see the exact answer. The one I will give is an approximation.

Area of the entire shaded area is approximately (≈) 284.549 ft² or 284.549 square feet.
