Took a while to work out the equation, but i think i got it. if the steam boat leaves the port going 36.8km/h, and was going for 1.75 hours, then you will multiply 36.8 by 1.75. which will give you the distance it traveled. which is 64.4km. assuming that they want the speed of both boats AFTER the speed boat exited the port, there is a lot more math needed to be done. so, if the steam boat continued at the same speed for another 1.8 hours, you will multipy it's speed by the time once again, which is 66.24. you will add this with it's original distance, 64.4+66.24. which is 130.64km. if the speed boat was 86.9km behind, then you will subtract that from 130.64 (which will give you the distance the speedboat traveled within that time frame.), which is 43.74. the speedboat traveled 43.74 in 1.8 hours. not exactly sure how to work out the rest sorry :( i can try though, i think if you divide both sides somehow so that the 1.8 will become just 1 you will have the speedboats speed in km/h. i might be able to do it by converting hours to minutes. if the boat traveled 43.74 in 108 minutes (which is 1.8 hours), you can put that into a proportion. 43.74/108 = x/60.  not sure what exactly to do from here so hopefully you can do proportions from there? x.x i don't have any paper atm. so the speed of the steam boat is 36.8km/h, and the speedboats speed can be found by converting 43.74/108 to x/60 ;3; sorry that i was unable to fully do the math, i'm not exactly the smartest
