Let c be the cost of a cheeseburger, and l be the cost of a cup of lemonade in dollars.3c+2l =  14     Multiply each term by 2               6c+4l    =  282c +4l = 12     Multiply each term by (-3)          -6c -12l  = -36 Add the 2 equations 6c  + 4l =  28-6c - 12l = -36 -8l = -8l = 1The cost of a cup of lemonade is $1    Substitute into either equation to find cost of cheeseburger 2c +4(1) = 122c + 4 = 122c =8c = 4The cost of a cheeseburger is $4One cheeseburger and 2 cups of lemonade costs $8
