Describe the transformation that takes f(x)=x+1 to g(x)= -x+4

The graphs of the functions can be transformed, obtaining related functions.  we consider two kinds of transformations.  • vertical and horizontal displacements: it is assumed that c is a positive constant, ie c> 0 and y = f (x) then  y = f (x) + c moves the graph c units up.  • stretching and reflections:     y = f (-x) reflects the graph with respect to the y-axis.  for this case:   f (x) = x + 1:   reflection with respect to the y axis:   -x + 1  move the graph 3 units up  g (x) = -x + 4  answer:   f (x) = x + 1 to g (x) = -x + 4  reflection with respect to the axis y  move the graph 3 units up
