The equation would be 45 - x = y
Or in other words: The amount of minutes he is allowed to use the computer minus the amount of minutes he spent watching videos equals the amount of minutes he has left to play video games.

45 - x = y -or- y = 45 - x
Answer : 45 - x = 7

Y = 45 - x I believe would be the right answer.
