First, Get a rectangular prism.

Now, look at the picture i attached. "It is going to be at the bottom of this answer" 
In the picture,
h = height
l = length
w = width

Now,
Measure the h, l, and w of your example of a rectangular prism. Again, the examples of rectangular prism include cereal box (best example) , your room, or just a box.
Now, 
Put no. 1 in your sheet of paper and write the value for the h, l, and w.

h = the height of the prism

We know,
B = (l * w)

Bh = (l * w) h

Volume of a rectangular prism = l x w x h

Now, plug in the value of l, w, and h and find the volume of your rectangular prism.
