In 2016, the Giant Panda officially downgraded from "endangered" to "vulnerable". China is proposing a 3-step plan to save the giant pandas. The first step that they plan to take is to protect the giant panda's habitat. The second plan of action is to introduce more pandas into the wild. The final plan of action includes laws to stop panda hunting. China's government has set 13 panda nature reserve areas, with specific plants like bamboo to grow in these areas for giant pandas to feast on. China's government has also increased the punishment if you hunt giant pandas. If you're caught hunting pandas, you'll be sent to jail with a minimum 10-year sentence.
