The other day my son brought me a silver dollar. A silver dollar is worth $0.50. John F Kennedy is on the Silver Dollar. My son wanted to share the silver dollar (1/2) with his sister, so he knew he needed to exchange the half dollar for 2 quarters (1/4), and then they would each get 1 quarter (1/4).

So the math he did was (1/2)/2 to get 1/4.

Did he do it correctly?
