Where:

a = total number of articles publishedm = number of months12 = slope = number of articles published per month60 = y-intercept = number of published articles at the start (month 0)

Now substitute in the values of m to get the a-value

m = 1 → a = 12(1) + 60 = 72m = 3 → a = 12(3) + 60 = 36 + 60 = 96m = 4 → a = 12(4) + 60 = 48 + 60 = 108m = 9 → a = 12(9) + 60 = 108 + 60 = 168
