2. The equation x+2= \sqrt{3x+10 is of the form x+a=\sqrt{bx+c, where a, b, and c are all positive integers and b>1. Using this equation as a model, create your own equation that has extraneous solutions. (a) Using trial and error with numbers for a, b, and c, create an equation of the form x+a=\sqrt{bx+c, where a, b, and c are all positive integers and b>1 such that 7 is a solution. (Hint: Substitute 7 for x, and choose a value for a. Then square both sides so you can choose a, b, and c that will make the equation true.)

(b) Solve the equation you created in Part 2a.

(c) If your solution in Part 2b did not have an extraneous solution, revise your equation so that 7 is one solution and there is an extraneous solution. If your solution in Part 2b did have an extraneous solution, create another equation with different values of a, b, and c that also has 7 as one solution and an extraneous solution.

Which of these statements is correct? the system of linear equations 6x - 5y = 8 and 12x - 10y = 16 has no solution. the system of linear equations 7x + 2y = 6 and 14x + 4y = 16 has an infinite number of solutions. the system of linear equations 8x - 3y = 10 and 16x - 6y = 22 has no solution. the system of linear equations 9x + 6y = 14 and 18x + 12y = 26 has an infinite number of solutions.

The investigating team suspected that there were differences in the cost of repairing cars in workshop i and workshop ii. the investigating team suspected that the costs raised by workshop i were greater than workshop ii. for that they tested the repair of 15 cars in each workshop to see the cost of repairs. the decision of the right hypothesis to prove the suspicion above is a. h0 : μ1- μ2 = 0; ha : μ1- μ2 ≠ 0 b. h0 : μ1- μ2 ≥ 0; ha : μ1- μ2 < 0 c. h0 : μd ≥ 0; ha : μd < 0 with μd = μ2- μ1 d. h0 : μd = 0; ha : μd ≠ 0 with μd = μ2- μ1 e. h0 : μ1- μ2 = 0; ha : μ1- μ2 ≥ 0
