A fountain will be placed at the centroid of the park. The designer wants to place a stone path from the fountain to the midpoint of each side.

a. Reproduce the diagram in Item 1 showing the location of the fountain and the stone paths. Mark congruent segments on your diagram.

b. What are the coordinates of the location of the fountain?

c. What is the actual distance from the fountain to each vertex?

d. Find the actual length of each stone path.

area of rectangle a is 2 times that of rectangle b that means 2x+x =   36cm^2

x = 36/3

now side of square = are divided by sides = 36/4 = 6cm

that means length of rectangle a and b is 6cm too

now for rectangle a,

l*b = area

therefore dimensions of rectangle a are- length = 6cm, breadth = 4cm

and for rectangle b, length = 6cm and breadth = 6-4 = 2cm.
