RABBIT EXPERTS HELP PLEASE! This is my rabbit Pumpkin. She recently turned a month old last week. For some reason she suddenly started losing a lot of weight and stopped trying to drink milk. As someone who has had experience with baby rabbits before, this is a new thing. My rabbit also recently had new babies. Is it because the lack of milk? If so, I did manage to get the mom while she still had milk but she still won't drink any. I left her alone for a couple days (With the mom obviously) but no progress. I don't want to lose her please give me advice. I checker her spine and ribs they are sticking out a lot she barely has any fat. I tried the vet but they said to leave her with the mom its not working.​

So I know that domestics are weaned off milk at about 6 weeks, so she could still be drinking, but she also could be weaning. HOWEVER, they should never loose wait during the weaning process. I would try to give her a formula (baby rabbits should be fed Kitten Milk Replacer (KMR) or goat milk, which you can buy at pet stores, or sometimes even a local veterinarian's office. Because rabbit milk is the most caloric of all mammals, we add in one tablespoon of 100% heavy whipping cream (no sugar) to each can of KMR.) and force feed it to her.

If you are not comfortably with that, you can try the soaking pellets in the formula, but there's a good chance she won't recognize that as food.
