The US Geological Survey (USGS) monitors earthquake around the world. Their data shows that around the world there are measurable quakes on an average every 20 minutes.
Assume that the earthquake follows exponential distribution, Find the following
probabilities.
(a) There would not be any measurable quake in any given hour?
(b) The next earthquake would be after more than 30 minutes?
(c) There was no earthquake in last 30 minutes, there would be an earthquake in next 10
minutes?
(d) Over next 12 hours, at least 2 hours will have at least 2 earthquakes?
