What are negatives and positives (math) and can u me learn them

Example of Negative numbers:

-4
-16
-19

Anything with a (-) negative sign is a negative

Positive are just your basic numbers:

example of a negative with a postive:

-9+6

=-3

So if Jimmy owes you 9 dollars, but only has 6 at the moment, he still owes you 3 dollars.

So positives are whole numbers. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and the list goes on forever.

Negatives are the numbers to the left of zero on any number line.

When you're adding negatives and positives these are some important rules to remember:
When you have more negatives KEEP the negative sign.
If you have more positives you can get rid of the negative sign.

1. -4 + 2 = -2
When you're adding a negative and a positive think of subtracting.

2. 7+ -3 = 4
