5. 13 + w/7 = -18

6. 17 = -13 - 8x

1) u + 2 = 4

u = 2

2)  -5 = s - 3

-2 = s

3) 5/13t = -9

t = -9 × 13/5

t = -39/5

t = -7 4/5

4)  6 = x + 2/3

x = 6 - 2/3

x = 5 1/3

5) 13 + w/7 = -18

w/7 = -18 - 13

w/7 = -31

w = -31 × 7 

w = -217

6) 17 = -13 - 8x

-8x = 17 + 13

-8x = 30

x = 30/-8

x = -15/4

x = - 3 3/4
