If Ronald is 22 years older than his son, and their ages sum up to 50 then we should first subtract 22 from 50 (being the age difference) and we're left with 28 and 22 divided by 2 is 14 which we can agree is Ronald's son's age now we add the earlier 22 we subtracted to 14 and it gives us 36 which is Ronald's age, so Ronald is 36 years old.
