An item cost n dollars. if the price of the item increases by 25%,the new price can be represented by the expression n+0.25n. which expression cam also represent the new price.

So lets say the item was $50 right and we raise the price by 25% then we take 50 divided by 4 is 12.50 so we add 50 to the 12.50 and get $62.50 as our new price. hope this helps
