How do you know when a fraction is equal less than more than explain

To figure out if its equal to or less than, greater than, make sure the fractions are simplified.

For example
1 and 2/4 is simplified as 6/4 which can be 1.50 or 150%.
To get this you need to simplify 2/4 first.

Step one

Divide both the numerator and denominator. If you divide the numerator by one certain number( in this one it's 2) you also divide the denominator by the same number. Which should give you a simpler fraction( in this case it's 1/2). Then you get the numerator ( 1 ) and divide it by the denominator ( 2 ). This should give you 0.50. (Note: use a calculator if you don't know how to divide 1 by 2) now you add 1 in the place of the 0 in front of .50
You should get 1.50


Percent

In order to get percent you need to try to get a decimal first. Then you move the point in 1.50 two points to the right. No matter what it will be 2 to the right for any decimal. Next you replace the point in 150. to %. This should get you 150%
