1)jimmy is saving money to purchase a bicycle. the bike he wants costs $295 and he has already saved up forty dollars. jimmy saves 25 dollars a month from his part-job to pay towards his bike. write an inequality that models the situation and solve for how many more months he must work and save until he has enough money to purchase the bike?
2) julie is running the concession stand for a swim team. she needs to buy supplies for the next swim meet. she has one item left to buy and she has 55 dollars left to spend. she wants to purchase cartons of apple juice and each one costs $3.75. write an inequality that models the problem and then find how many cartons of apple juice she can purchase with the money she has to spend. assume she cannot purchase a fraction of a carton?
