A researcher was interested in whether final course grades between those students who care about, or have an interestn, their courses are significantly different than those who do not. From a population of students enrolled in the same course, she recruited 4 individuals who DID care about the course and 5 individuals who did NOT care about the course. At the end of the semester, she recorded the final course grade for each individual (max-100%). The data and mean for each group are below: Students who did care (treat this group as μ): 95, 80, 87, 92, Avg-88.5 Students who did not care (treat this group as μ2): 70, 85, 60, 88, 65. Avg-73.6
15. Identify the populations and state the null and research hypotheses.
16. State the dfiotal and your critical t, based on a p-level of 0.05
17. Calculate and report the values for pooled variance, standard error, and the t observed.
18. State your decision and interpret the result. Describe the results in APA format.
19. Calculate the 95% confidence interval for an independent samples test.
20. Run the hypothesis test in SPSS and use the output to check your answers. Copy and paste the SPSS output that contains the t-test result.
