The state fair is a popular field trip destination. This year the senior class at High School A and he senior class at High School B both planned trips there. The senior class at High School A rented and filled 2 vans and 5 buses with 307 students. High School B rented and filled 6 vans and 10 buses with 626 students. Each van and each bus carried the same number of students. Find the number of students in each van and in each bus.
Let x = number of students in each van
y = number of tudents in each bus
Equation 1: 2x+5y=307
Equation 2: 6x+10y=626
Part A: Which method will you use to solve this problem? (Graphing (Rewrite equations in slope intercept form first), Substitution, or elimination) ATTACH YOUR WORK
Part B: How many students can a van carry?
