A baseball his hit with an initial vertical velocity of 121 feet per second and struck 1 foot above ground. Let h = be the height in feet and t = time in seconds.
h(t) = - 16t? + 121 + 1
a. How high is the ball after 2 seconds?
b. You are trying to determine how many seconds would it take for the ball to hit the ground (height = 0). What equation would you set up?
c. Solve your equation from part b using the qudratic fomrula, round your answer to the nearest hundredth.
d. You are trying to determine when the ball would be at 30 feet above the ground. What equation would you set up?
e. Solve your equation form part d using the quadratic formula, round your answer(s) to the nearest hundredth.
