Basketball strategy Late in a basketball game, the team that is behind often fouls someone in an attempt to get the ball back. Sometimes the rules put the foul shooter in a "one-and-one" sit- uation. This means that if the shooter misses the first free throw. he stops shooting and gets no points. But if he makes the first shot, he gets to shoot again. If he misses the second shot, he has scored one point; if he makes the second shot, he has scored two points. Suppose the opposing player has made 72% of his foul shots this season. a) Create a plan for a simulation to estimate the number of points he will score in a one-and-one situation. b) Here is a display of the results of 100 trials of a simulation.
